Xbox Quick Resume Not Working – Microsoft is currently rolling out a new update to the Xbox Insider Preview that is said to fix the Xbox Series X|S fast-forwarding issues that users have been experiencing since launch.
Quick Resume is an amazing feature on Microsoft’s next-gen consoles – if it actually works. Even before the launch of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, Microsoft said it was aware of issues preventing the feature from working properly. We’ve experienced this ourselves with numerous Xbox titles that didn’t resume quickly at all and restarted completely.
Xbox Quick Resume Not Working
Fortunately, this issue should be resolved via an upcoming system update that will soon be available to all Xbox Series X|S owners. Microsoft hasn’t revealed when this new update will be available to the public, but we do know that a preview update is currently available for Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead Ring. Xbox Series X|s Quick Resume Doesn’t Work With All Games

If you shut down your Xbox in sleep mode, Quick Resume will still work when you start the console. Quick Resume should also work with your games even after a hard shutdown. This means that you will turn off the console by pressing the Xbox button for a few seconds.
Xbox Series X|s Quick Resume Fix Inbound Through New System Update
If you don’t want the current game you have open to use Quick Resume, you can force close the game after you open it. To force quit, press the Xbox button to return to the home control panel. Then press the menu button (three lines) and scroll down to “Cancel”.
Choosing Quit means closing the game completely, so be sure to save your progress if necessary.
The quick resume feature should be “activated” after you open the game. To test it, simply open another game or app. You can load into camp or some other mode, but it’s not necessary for the fast forward to work. Return to a previous game and you should see a “Quick Resume” banner in the upper right corner of the game launch window.

Your pinned games will only drop out of quick resume if you manually remove them or if the game requires a mandatory update.
Wherever you see your quick resume group, you can select a game, press the Menu button, and select Pin for quick resume. If you already have two games pinned, you’ll be asked which pin you want to swap.
The Share button on the Xbox Wireless Controller lets you take a screenshot by tapping it or record a video by holding it down for a few seconds.
