“British Airways will now operate 20 direct flights back to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad providing convenient options for customers wanting to travel to London, Heathrow,” the airline said in a statement.
“These flights will not only reunite several people who have been separated from their loved ones due to covid-19 but will also provide an easy way for eligible students to connect to the UK and US on an American Airlines partner airline,” it added. .
The UK government recently moved India from the amber (medium alert) list to the red alert list, paving the way for increased flights between them. This also means that fully immunized passengers traveling between India and the UK will no longer be required to comply with the 10-day hotel quarantine rule.
Flights between India and the UK fall under the bilateral air bubble agreement as scheduled international flights continue to be suspended at least until August 31. The bilateral air bubble is a way to resume flights between India and other countries that have conditions during the pandemic.

Currently, India has air bubble agreements with around 28 countries, including Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Iraq , Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Maldives, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Ukraine, UAE, UK, Uzbekistan and -US.

In a move to welcome British tourists, British Airways has announced that it will resume flights to 17 destinations in August. Due to Covid-19, the airline will follow the ongoing low tides on the routes.
The list of new destinations includes favorites like France, Italy, and Turkey. Britons were left stranded after the UK removed popular destinations such as Spain, the Canary Islands and the Balearics from its “air bridge” list.
Other places on the list include Paphos, Bodrum, Pula, Islamabad, Nairobi, Frankfurt, Bari, Antigua, Catania, Bastia, Nairobi, Figari, Kefalonia, Malta, Luxemborg, Genoa and Lyon.
Airlines offer flexible booking options such as the ability to change the booking without any additional costs, or cancel the booking and receive a travel voucher at a later time.
