We are currently seeking a part-time (10-15 hours per week) graduate student for the 2021-2022 academic year. The Women’s Center Graduate Fellow will play an integral role in the center’s programs and resources, student engagement, and graduate student engagement. Currently enrolled graduate students of all genders and identities in the Boston area are welcome to apply. The Women’s Center graduate student will work with a variety of staff and faculty on the Tufts campus to develop and facilitate programming. It is important for the graduate assistant to consider this work in an intentional, intersectional framework, considering the interconnectedness of gender and patriarchal oppression and other systemic injustices. She will report directly to and work with the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies. Center. At the request of the Senior Director and Assistant Director, the Women’s Center is an older building that has not been renovated for greater physical accessibility. At the entrance of the building, there are four small steps leading up to the door, and inside there are small spaces such as a narrow staircase and a downstairs bathroom. People using wheelchairs and some other mobility devices may have difficulty accessing the building. This is a Graduate Assistant (RA) position in Science Education for the 2020/21 academic year funded by a National Science Foundation grant. The project explores how undergraduate chemistry and physics lectures can support student learning. The RA’s responsibilities will include: collecting classroom videos; planning and conducting research interviews with students, LAs and TAs; video and chat data management; and contribute to data analysis.

The RA will work on a PI (Ira Caspari, Tufts Departments of Chemistry and Education), two PIs (Wesal Dini, Tufts Department of Physics and Astronomy and Hannah Sevian, UMass Boston Department of Chemistry), and a senior collaborator. undergraduate research staff. The project will be taught in introductory chemistry and physics lectures at Tufts and UMass Boston. In the Fall 2020 semester, all research-related lectures and all parts of the research will be conducted online. It is not yet known whether classes and research will be held in person or online in spring 2021.

Job Description: The Office of Student Access Services (or SAS) provides academic and non-academic accommodations to students on the Medford campus, SMFA, and the Fletcher School and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. SAS is seeking two graduate students to oversee the SAS testing program for long-term students at Lincoln Filene Space. This position will be Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm with flexible working hours. Graduate Trial Coordinators will also be responsible for other administrative duties as assigned.
