Special Skills Acting Resume
Special Skills Acting Resume – Actors! Your resume is just as, if not more, important than your headshot. It seems that many of you are formatting your resume incorrectly. A lot of casting websites will do this for you, but most importantly, you need a version that you can send yourself at a moment’s notice. A poorly formatted resume says that you are not serious about your career. I’m going to tell you the right way so you can present yourself as a professional, especially if you’re sending this resume to agents and casting directors.
Your name and contact information: Your name at the top, in the middle (in capital letters), followed by UNION STATUS, your email, your cell phone (if you don’t have an agent), and your website (if you have one, and you should). You can have your stats (height, weight, eyes, hair color) following this, but it’s not necessary. If you do that, keep it in small 9 point font all the way to the left.

Categories: List the categories in the following order. If you don’t have credits in one of the categories, leave it off your resume.
Movie. List the name of the film, the type of role (PRINCIPAL—not “principle,” support, lead), and don’t put an additional job or feature or role name there. Name the production company and director in the last column. If this is a picture of students, say the name of the school.
T.V. List TV show, character type (co-star, guest star, recurring, series regular). If it’s a web series or shorter, put the name of the project in parentheses. Again, no extra work or features here. List the network or production company in the right column.
Theater List the show, the role you played, and then the theater location. If you have enough New York theater, create a new resume category that says New York Theater and put the rest in the Regional Theater category.
