For the purpose of this post, I will provide some steps to create your resume, give you some ideas about what to include, provide some resume writing resources, and provide my resume as an example for you! So let’s get started.

There are tons of resume samples online – just do a quick Google search and you’ll find all kinds! However, I find that using the Word template is the easiest way because I also use Word to enter the information.

Fill in your information with the latest experience listed first – everything should be changing in real time!
It’s important to tailor your resume to the job you’re applying for – that is, if you’re applying to childcare, include all of your childcare experience and exclude other experiences. But I must note, as a new grad you may not have experience before, so it’s good to include any other experience to show that you have a diverse background and that you’ve learned a variety of skills.
– If you are using a template that includes design elements, make sure that it is not functional and that it does not erase important information from the page.
