Ob Gyn Medical Assistant Resume
Ob Gyn Medical Assistant Resume – Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) are some of the most diverse allied health professionals out there. They may work with patients, maintain accurate charts, field phone calls, make sure tools and equipment are sterilized and ready to go to doctors and nurses, handle copayments and insurance, and make sure the waiting room is tidy and welcoming – all in a single shift. Medical assistants can be more administrative or more clinical, depending on the job and setting, but they all have one thing in common: they help advance the practice of medicine. If you’re considering this rewarding field or already in it, looking to move up, we’ve got some sample resumes to help you strengthen yours.
Let’s take a look at three different CMA resumes: one just starting out, another with experience under her belt, and a third looking to move on to a teaching position. First up is Steve, our rookie medical assistant.

Steve doesn’t have a ton of experience as a full medical assistant yet, but he does have experience that includes internships and working in various medical/administrative offices. In his resume, it is crucial to make sure that the experience and skills he
Flashed before the reader. He is still working on his certification, but notes it in “Education” so the reader knows it’s coming soon, even though he’s not fully certified yet. If your education is still ongoing, it is good to indicate where your progress is. The key points at the beginning of the summary are the areas that Steve wants the reader to focus on while reviewing his experience. In this way, he takes the reader through the points he wants to make the most, rather than just throwing a lot of general information at the reader.

A more traditional format (a reverse-chronological format, which puts the experience front and center) works well for Keisha. She has many years of great experience, so she wants to present them as the most important aspect of her professional life so far. Also note that while her duties may have been fairly similar from job to job, she doesn’t repeat the bullets verbatim. Nothing will make a reader glaze over faster than reading the same lines over and over again.

Last but not least, we have Pippa, who has been a Certified Medical Assistant for ten years, but wants to jumpstart her healthcare career by shifting her focus to teaching.
Dedicated, detail-oriented medical professional looking to leverage 10+ years of experience, superior patient care, and mentoring experience in teaching, training, and mentoring medical assistant candidates.

Like the other CMA resumes we reviewed, Pippa emphasizes patient care and excellent organizational skills, as they are the heart of his field. But because she wants to branch out and work in teaching as well as working in a medical office, she also emphasizes the skills that would make her successful there: training, mentoring, working with people. She uses her resume to show that she has experience working on projects outside of the normal medical assistant duties.
Pippa is also foregrounding her purpose: she uses her lead statement as a purpose to signal to the reader that she wants to switch roles, even though most of her experience is in a specific area.
