Moulin Rouge!’ To Perform At Us Open Opening Night Ceremony

Full. If I do something, I do it with everything I have and with all my heart. I hope to inspire. To take risks, be bold and courageous.

I have always considered myself an actor who dances. I believe in telling stories through movement. With my gymnastics and ballet training, I thrive when I’m working hard and my skill set is most utilized in pieces that require a lot of strength and endurance. Conveying passion and freedom through reckless, grounded abandon in pieces like “Music & The Mirror” or “Turkey Lurkey Time” by the great Michael Bennett will always be my favorite.

I was 10 years old when I saw my first Broadway show, Chicago. I saw Bebe Neuwirth as Velma and from that moment I was hooked. Bob Fosse’s work is beyond inspiring and was the reason I fell in love with Musical Theatre. I was 17 years old when I got my first big job, which was the national and international tour of the show “Fosse”. Dancing to his brilliance that year solidified my decision to pursue a career in theater. The discipline, control and technique required to really understand this move always keeps me striving to be a better dancer. Having a workhorse mindset, I love the time, rehearsal, and repetition it takes to perfect your choreography. It will always be my favorite style of dancing and because I love sweating it out and the phrase “again” it will keep me coming back for more.

Dancing has been my life. I started dancing at the age of three. It immediately felt as natural to me as breathing. Dance is and has always been the gift given to me to better express myself. Whatever I feel, I can never convey it more clearly than when I dance. It’s what makes me feel more alive and free.

I have been teaching dance for almost 20 years. I love being able to pass the joy of dancing to the next generation and share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years in the business. I
