Far Cry 6 Quick Resume
Far Cry 6 Quick Resume – A highly touted new feature for the Xbox Series X is Quick Resume. However, this is not a future you turn on and off. It persists when switching games and waking the console from sleep mode.
“A new feature that builds on the technical capabilities of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S and the innovative Xbox Speed Architecture, Quick Resume allows players to seamlessly switch between multiple titles and instantly pick up where they last left off.”

If you turn off your Xbox in sleep mode, Quick Resume will still work when you start the console. Quick Resume should work with your games even after a hard shutdown. This means turning off the console by holding down the Xbox button for several seconds.
If you don’t want the current game you have open to use the Quick Resume feature, you can force quit the game after opening the game. To exit, press the Xbox button to return to your home dashboard. Then press the menu button (three lines) and scroll down to “Finish”.
Selecting Quit will close the game completely, so make sure you save your progress if necessary.

The game quick resume feature should be “activated” after opening the game. Just open another game or app to test it. You can load into a camp or other mode, but it’s not necessary for Quick Resume to work. Go back to your previous game and you should see a “Quick Resume” banner in the upper right corner of the game launch window.

Quick Resume is a feature on the Xbox Series X|S that allows players to quickly jump between multiple games and pick up where they left off. Even after a system reboot, Quick Resume can resume games exactly where they were previously paused. Switching between titles is easy and takes only a few seconds. This is a significant improvement over other consoles such as the PS5 and Switch, which typically shut down games when switching between them. Sometimes they crash the system in some games like AC Valhalla. So if you want to know how to turn off and disable quick resume on Xbox Series X & S, we’re going to talk about it here today.
Quick Resume is a feature that Microsoft enables in the core system-level programming architecture. To do this, it is currently not possible to manually turn off the entire feature. This technology is enabled by default using the new Velocity Architecture, which underpins the current generation of console storage technology. But there are several solutions you can do to solve this problem. So here’s how to turn off and disable Quick Resume on Xbox Series X and S.
Please note that these solutions are not permanent and you will have to follow these steps every time you play that particular game until the game developers release a patch for it.

That’s all you need to know about how to turn off and disable fast mode on Xbox Series X and S. While you’re here, be sure to check out our other Xbox guides, like How to Play 120fps on Xbox Series X|S and How to Get Discord on Xbox Series X|S.I’m putting together a list of games that support Quick Resume and the games that currently Resume is not supported. Post the games in your library that aren’t on this list and I’ll update the original post to include them in alphabetical order. I will do my best to keep the list up to date and in order.
For games that do not currently support Quick Resume, I ask that you retest the games after the Xbox system update to see if the games support the feature. It looks like Microsoft and the developers are quietly fixing this game issue via some kind of in-flight update, but for consistency, check after the Xbox system update to see if it starts working. Please post when the feature starts working for any games and I’ll update the original post.
For those of you who are not familiar with Quick Resume, here are two demo videos about the feature.
Be careful when running multiple tests in an unstable Quick Resumable game. Sometimes this causes the entire console to crash.
How To Disable Quick Resume On Xbox Series X & S?
Here is a list of games from my library that support Quick Resume and games that don’t. Games with red color have unstable support.
Instead of exiting the game, the system saves the current state of the game to internal memory before closing the game.
Then, when you resume playing the game, instead of starting the game normally, you just start that game state and you’re back in the game at the exact moment you decided to quit.
NOTE – This should only work for games that are not in multiplayer instance/game mode. So for example it wouldn’t work in an MMO or in the middle of COD multiplayer.

Series X) Crash After Quick Resume
I don’t use Quick Resume at all on my X series, as I hope. Unless I’m missing something in the UI, it seems too simple that the game switches out and the game can’t be switched back when the progress is gone, unless I saved before – assuming it’s a game you can save anywhere.
It’s a great idea, but it needs some work, and some of that work needs to be done by developers and publishers.
The ability to pin games to the home page so they don’t get swapped out of the quick story is something I’ve requested in the past. Would make the feature perfect.
