As with a resume, you want your activity list to be in your own words, to sound like you. Overwriting can make it look like you hired a professional to write it, which can detract from your application. So, unless it’s the one and only word that perfectly captures what you’ve done, avoid using “corporate verbs.” See some examples of these words below. I won’t say “100% don’t use those words.” But at least, I say “proceed with caution.”
Heads up: Using this list for ten minutes will increase your activity list verbs, and thus your descriptions.

I might ask the student if she can think of anything she has done that demonstrates leadership. (If not, that’s okay! It’s a process of asking questions and seeing what variety might be possible. But we’re not in the business of making things – see cautionary note below.) I’d also wonder if the description could be more Clearly demonstrate the author’s commitment to health – this is, after all, the red cross – or perhaps social change.
