Just like with a smartphone, things can go wrong with Apple TV apps. Sometimes they are delayed or stop responding altogether. If this happens, your best bet is to simply force close the app.
To force close an app, double-press the TV or Home button, swipe left or right to highlight the app, and swipe up on the Siri Remote’s trackpad.

Sometimes it’s more than just one app that works. Also, from time to time, while the Apple TV is connected to your wireless network and has access to the Internet, apps seem to just stop receiving data for no apparent reason.
If your Apple TV is doing any of these things, or is misbehaving in general, it’s best to just restart it. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Restart or by pressing and holding the Menu & TV button until the light on the front of the Apple TV starts flashing rapidly. Releasing both buttons on the remote will restart the Apple TV.
If your Apple TV won’t turn on at all, the first thing you need to do is check your power source. Check that the cable is plugged into the back of the Apple TV and make sure it’s securely plugged into an outlet, power strip, or surge protector. And make sure the strip or surge protector is on.
It may also be the case that the Apple TV turns on but does not display a video signal. Check the HDMI connection and that the TV is set to the correct input. If everything is connected and set up as it should, try setting the output resolution on the Apple TV itself. To do this, hold the Menu and Volume Down buttons on the Siri Remote for about five seconds.

If your Siri remote stops working, first try charging it using the Lightning port on the bottom edge of the remote. You can check your Apple TV’s charge level under Remotes & Devices by using your iOS device as a remote.
If that doesn’t work, try resetting the remote by switching it to pairing mode. Do this by holding the remote close to the Apple TV and holding down the menu and volume up buttons for two to three seconds.
From time to time, everything with the Siri remote will work as intended except for the Play button. Pressing it will do nothing no matter what app you’re in. The obvious solution is to simply click on the trackpad to play and pause. But if you want the Play button to work again, try one of two things: re-pair the remote or restart your Apple TV.
To put the remote in pairing mode, move near the Apple TV and hold Menu and Volume Up for a few seconds. If that doesn’t work, restart the Apple TV by pressing and holding the Menu and TV buttons until the light on the front of the Apple TV starts flashing rapidly. Release and the Apple TV will restart.
Apple Tv Problems And How To Solve Them
From time to time, Apple TV will mute audio without explanation. Obviously, this will depend on your setup and settings, but if this happens to you, try restarting your TV and any audio hardware connected to your Apple TV, such as a sound bar.
This will usually solve the problem. However, if it doesn’t, try restarting your Apple TV. Also, make sure your audio settings are correct. Go to Settings > Audio & Video and make sure the correct speakers are selected for audio output and Audio Mode is set to Auto.
If you have a lot of apps or games installed on your Apple TV, you may run out of storage space over time. The obvious solution is to remove unused apps and games. However, if you choose to do it from the home screen, you’ll need to go through four steps to remove each app.
If you remove multiple apps, this can take quite a while. A quicker way to remove apps, which also shows how much valuable storage space each app is using, is to go to Settings > General > Manage Storage. Applications will be sorted in descending order by file size. Just click the trash can icon to the right of the app and click Delete to remove each app.
How To Fast Forward On Apple Tv
AirPlay lets you stream media or mirror the screen of Apple devices to your TV with the push of a button. While it works flawlessly most of the time, it’s not perfect and will struggle at times.
If you’re trying to enable AirPlay on your Mac, iPhone ($265 at Amazon), or iPad ($148 at Amazon) and you don’t see the Apple TV you want to stream to, double-check that Apple TV is AirPlay-enabled. To do this, go to Settings > AirPlay and next to AirPlay, make sure it says Anyone or Anyone on the same network. If you choose Everyone, anyone nearby with an iOS device or Mac will be able to stream to your Apple TV (unless you ask for a password). If you set it to Everyone on the same network, only those who have access to your Wi-Fi will be able to stream to the Apple TV.
To make your life easier, be sure to set an easily recognizable name in the AirPlay settings. Click the name of the Apple TV and give it a unique name, such as the room it’s in.
